ALBA – Funeral services for RJ Winkle, 90, of Alba, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Wilson-Bartley Chapel, Alba, with Bro. Ricky Null and Bro. Jimmy Winkle officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
RJ passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Mineola.
He was born January 5, 1928, in Titus County, to the late George Byran and Merel Marie Dyke Winkle. He married Mary Swan Clark on December 18, 1954, in Clarksville. RJ served in the Army from 1950-1956. He retired after 32 years as an Assistant Vice President at Atlas Metal Works in Dallas and lived in Alba since 1995. He was a member of the Spence Park Baptist Church, Balch Springs.
He is survived by his sons and their wives, Jimmy and Debbie Winkle of Alba, David and Debbie Winkle of Blooming Grove, and Darrell and Denise Winkle of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Winnie Lynch of Tolar; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Eunice Winkle; wife of 62 years, Mary Winkle; brothers, Johnny Winkle and Henry Winkle; and sisters, Enzalee Blalock, Wanda Nell Burrow, Marie F. Mills, and Linnie Pitchford.
Pallbearers will be Gary Winkle, Timothy Winkle, Richard Winkle, Barry Winkle, Kevin Winkle, and Michael Clark.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
