Obituary for Troy Marshall

Services for Troy Lee Marshall, 73, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Roundflat Pentecostal Church with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.
Military graveside honors will be at Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Marshall passed away November 9, 2019, in Tyler. He was born November 15, 1945, in Dallas to William Franklin & Elmer Bernice McClain Marshall. Troy was raised in Irving and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, with one tour of duty on the USS Bigelow. He lived in Grand Saline for the last 50 years where he was a truck driver and a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church. He also served his community by fostering children in his home for several years. Troy had a deep love for gospel music and also enjoyed buying, selling and trading livestock. He loved to drive his Wagon and team of mules around Grand Saline. Troy was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Marshall.
Survivors include his two sons, James Marshall of Moore, OK and Bryan Marshall of Grand Saline; two daughters, Jamey Manes and husband Kevin of New Diana and Traci Schiska of Haslet; sister, Carolyn Hettich of Abilene; brother-in-law, Phillip Hettich Sr. of North Dallas; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Triston, Sarah, Briley, Josie, Danielle, Natalie, Christian "Froggy" and Lyric; two great-grandchildren, Kynslee and Korben; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Blaine Mosley, Rusty Akins, Roy Chelette, Eric Autry, Kevin Manes, Phillip Hettich, Jr. and Ron Hettich.
Honorary pallbearer will be W.L. Akins.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the funeral home.
