Obituary for Steve Schifani
Graveside services for Mr. Steve Schifani, 78, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Sand Flat Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Steve Bernard Schifani passed away November 15, 2019, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born January 9, 1941, in Houston, to Peter & Lena Marino Schifani. Steve married Salli Hubbard in 1963 and they moved to Dallas for a couple of years before moving to Grand Saline 52 years ago. He owned/operated Steve’s Pharmacy in Grand Saline for 10 years and then sold to what is now Economy Drug. He went on to work for Eckerd’s Drug for 25 years and then did relief work for local pharmacist in the area. He enjoyed roping and tennis in his younger days and then moved on the play golf. Steve loved going to sporting events with his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Leona Schroeder.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Salli Schifani of Grand Saline; mother-in-law, Fern Hubbard of Grand Saline; son, Stephen Schifani and wife Lori of San Antonio; daughter, Jo Elizabeth Korn and husband Andrew of Dallas; four grandchildren, Bryn Korn, Jake Schifani, Ashton Schifani and Elli Korn; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or any charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
